Country-trap star Lil Nas X will perform at the opening ceremony for the 2022 League of Legends World Championship, Riot Games announced today. The performer, who is best known for his viral hit “Old Town Road,” will join an already stacked lineup that includes K/DA, BTS, and Imagine Dragons.

Riot Games has announced that Lil Nas X will perform at the opening ceremony of the League of Legends World Championships on November 5 at the Chase Center in San Francisco, California.

Along with other musical acts, Lil Nas X will play the 2022 Worlds anthem, “Star Walking,” to the crowd. Lil Nas X collaborated with Riot Games to produce the 2022 Worlds anthem and has also served as the President of League of Legends in the company’s advertising circuit surrounding the international competition.

Along with Lil Nas X, vocalist Jackson Wang will release “Fire to the Fuse,” a Riot Games Music-created theme song for the new in-game skin brand Empyrean, in collaboration with label 88rising. Louis Leibfried and Edda Hayes are among the other artists performing before the Worlds grand final.

Riot Games traditionally puts on a performance for fans before the competition concludes in the Worlds grand final, and this year appears to be no different.

“From the world’s two top LoL Esports teams to the Opening Ceremony lineup, the World Final stage will be packed with icons.” “We couldn’t be more thrilled to have these internationally famous artists bring their unique talent to Worlds, a stunning celebration of the finest of League,” said Naz Aletaha, Global Head of LoL Esports, in a press release.
